Orenburg International Airport is the main air gateway to the Orenburg region, with more than 700,000 passengers using it every year. The airport is equipped with a 2,501-metre long and 42-metre-wide runway. The main activities of the enterprise are the airport and ground handling of aircraft, as well as services provided for arriving and departing passengers, luggage, cargo and mail services.

The plan calls for revamping of the passenger terminal, to be carried out by the airport’s new owner – the joint-stock company Orenburg International Airport – ABC Company (Airports of the Big Country). Total area of the new passenger terminal building is planned to be approximately 22,000 sq. m. The throughput capacity on domestic airlines will stand at 360 passengers per hour as the minimum, and at 220 passengers per hour on international airlines. The construction of boarding (jet) bridges for domestic and international passengers and boarding gates to apron buses is anticipated. Completion of revamping works on the passenger terminal cluster is scheduled for late 2025.
